I am thrilled to be making my second solo feature at Cake International.


After the Faraway tree feature paying homage to the wonderful Enid Blyton books of the same name were so well received, I am thrilled to now present to you:

'What is Real?' If adults say not to tell fibs when you tell them about House Brownies, Sprites or Wandering Clumps, come and show them it is true! Inspired by “Arthurs Spiderwick’s Field Guide to the Fantastical World Around You” by Tony Di Terlizzi & Holly Black (Simon & Schuster, New York) and hand created by the wonderful Welsh cake-sculptress Rhianydd Webb.

Cake International Spring NEC March 2017

Wow! What a weekend!  From demonstrating daffodils on the open stage, to modelling hands and feet in the enclosed theatre.  Winning Cake off with Team Welsh Cakes (come and support us in the final in November), to having an incredible response to my Spiderwick feature.  Thank you Will Torrent for Tweeting to Tony DiTerlizzi, because when he and his family tweeted about it too, that was just incredible.  The Spiderwick Chronicles shared my video of the feature too.  Wow!  Visit the Facebook group for loads more photographs and videos of the feature.

Pretty Witty Cakes

Saracino Mini Class at Cake International November 3-5th

I am excited to share that I will be teaching a mini class for Saracino at Cake International 3-5th November.


I will be teaching how to model hands and feeet using Saracino pasta model and Cerart modelling tools.

This years Cake International really was exciting.


I am pleased to announce my "Away with the Faeries" feature sponsored by Renshaws, Saracino, Dummies Direct, Rainbow Dust, Clairella Cakes, Cerart.  A life size male Faerie sculpture surrounded by giant wafer paper and paste flowers. Don't forget to look for the little beasties.

I am no longer able to compete at Cake International while I am judging, but competing is very important as it keeps you challenging yourself.


So I entered the small decorative exhibit category and am honoured to say I won a gold award for my Father Earth exhibit.

Cake Masters UK Top 10 Cake Artist 2018

I am thrilled to share that I was named by Cake Masters magazine, UK Top 10 cake artist alongside these incredibly talented sugacrafters.  


At Cake International in November 2018 we were presented with our trophies that is proudly displayed on my welsh dresser.


Thank you so much Cake Masters for the honour.

We had a fantastic time at the Welsh National Sugarcraft and Cake show sponspored by  Vanilla Valley  www.welshcakeshow.com 


I spent approximately 4-4 1\2 hours sculpting a cake live which was served to the public after prize giving.


I was thrilled to welcome Cara Maiden, Paul Williams and Rob Baker-Gall as guest artists at my stand and they did wonderful demonstrations creating pieces to add to the finished display.

Shanghai April 2019

I am thrilled to share that I taught in China in April for  Squires Kitchen - China



I was a judge at the Patisserie Elite competition at the Shanghai International Exhibition Centre,

I am also assisted with the Chinese Tutor Assessment Program.  They have developed a wonderful program where the participants can display their skills.


I was also proud to be a Guest Tutor and taught a two day Master Class at the Tangshishi Sugarcraft Training School ( Shanghai) where I taught my new Fairy Cottage Class.


Cyril's Cake Adventure

In November 2019 I took my first book to Cake International at my authors stand F31.


It is book one in a trilogy and is a cake tutorial book with a difference


Every chapter page is the next page in the story Cyril's Cake Adventure, and the story can all be produced using the tutorials in the book.


There are lots of skills to learn in the book including

New Premises

A great way to start a new decade with a beautiful new Cake School Premises.


This is where I will be teaching all my weekly and day classes.


All students booked in for classes at Garth Olwg Lifelong learning centre and Pantygraigwen Commuity Centre will be transferred to the new premises and contacted shortly.

National Bakery Awards 2020


This year just keeps getting better.


I received a wonderful surprise that someone had nominated me and I am a County Winner for the National Bakery Awards.


Sadly, I am unable to attend the awards as I am teaching but I would like to congratulate my fellow winners and wish them the best of luck to go on to win Regional and National Titles.


Covid-19 update

Please note that for the time being, all in person classes are being postponed due to government guidelines.  These are subject to review. 


Weekly classes restrated as an online class at the scheduled April dates and students and are still available to be joined as the recordings remain in the private fb group.

All  day classes are being postponed  and continually reviewed according to government guidelines, including easter cupcake classes which will automatically transfer to summer cupcake classes.

New online classes are being organised and are available to purchase in the shop with more being added. Please email if you have a subject you would like to cover.
