Subject - Sharp Edges polystyrene cake dummy with cocoa butter painting of Castle Coch with a sugar flower spray of Carnations, Fuschia and Foliage


Equipment needed:



Week 1 18/4/18  Carnation Orchard or FMM or PME medium or small carnation cutters. 24g white wires, modelling tools, flower paste, nile green florist tape, chosen dust colours including moss green, rolling pin, palette knife, polystyrene block and cardboard box to store flowers, flower pad, 24g wires, nile green florist tape, palette, dusting brushes (flat or filbert no.6. or 8 sable/watercolour/nylon), edible glue and brush


Week 2 25/4/18 Fuschia – Flower making tools as above  plus micro or mini stamen, Fushia cutters of choice (can be single small rose petal cutter and four petal fuschia cutter, or the FMM set), Simple leaf cutters (or template), Fuschia or all purpose leaf veiner or rose leaf veiner,  flower paste 24,26,28g wires


Week 3  16/5/18   Fuschia – as last week plus dust colours in your choice (have a peek on the internet for colour inspiration) eg pink, plum, violet, purple, moss green, foliage green, aubergine


Week 4 6/6/18  Foliage – query Rosemary tbc


Week 5 13/6/18  Sharp Edges 6” round poly dummy (4-5” tall). 8-10” round drum, good quality sugarpaste – Renshaw extra or Renshaw décor ice plus cmc, saracino pasta top, massa Ticino etc long rolling pin, icing sugar shaker, small sharp knife, smoother, flexi smoothers, piping jel optional and pastry brush to adhere icing to dummy, glue gun or double sided tape to fix dummy to drum. Ribbon to finish edge and pritt stick or double sided tape. Scissors


27/6/18  Painting Castell Coch with cocoa butter Selection of acrylic or sable paintbrushes. I use detail brushes plus no. 2, 4 round, cocoa butter, dust colours to include cream, autumn leaf, brown, nutkin, black, yellow, moss, white, plate and bowl (we will boil water), or an oil burner, tea light and lighter. Bring your cake to paint on.  Kitchen Roll, damp cloth


4/7/18  Painting – as last week


18/7/18  Wire spray – flowers, plus floristry tape, wire cutters and pliars, posy pic, scissors
