Exotic sugar flowers to include Birds of Paradise, Anthurium, Bourganvillea arranged with a Framed sugarpaste bas relief volcanic mountainside scene
(please note the gaps in the schedule. These are due to school holidays or my other teaching commitments) Please bring paper and pen for notes
Week 1 12th September Anthurium anthurium petal veiner, florist paste, 18g white wires, nile green florist tape, rolling pin, modelling tools, polystyrene to put flowers in.
Week 2 26th September Anthurium as last week, plus PME glaze spray, primrose dust, red/burgundy dust, moss green dust, dust brushes and palette
Week 3 3rd October Bird of paradise – templates or petal cutters. 16, 18, 20, 24, 26g wires (can leave out 20g), corn husk veiner, or dry two pieces of corn husk between kitchen roll in a book, and fix tto card with double sided tape. White and spruce green flowerpaste. Colours to include; orange, purple, red, moss, foliage, aubergine, plum; primrose, cutting wheel.
Week 4 25th October Bird of paradise as last week
Week 5 14th November Bourganvillea bourganvillea or poinsettia or all purpose leaf veiner. Flower paste, 26g white wires, nile green florist tape, small blossom plunger cutters, modelling tools, heart shaped cutters (approx. 1-1.5” long for petals), basic leaf shape cutters. Can be pink, orange, (have a peep online to see what you prefer) also bring moss, foliage and aubergine for leaves
Week 6 21st November Bourganvillea as last week
Week 7 28th November Dusting flowers (see individual flower weeks for lists)
Week 8 5th December Bas Relief scene Thick cake card (not drum) cut to the same size as chosen pic frame (either 10 x 8 or A4). Sugarpaste to include brown, green, grey, white. Nailbrush, foil. Petal blue dust colour, nielssen massey lemon extract, large paint brush, kitchen roll.modelling tools, rolling pin, knife, work board (or choose to work on a tall 6” round cake on a 10” round drum)
Week 9 12th December Bas Relief Scene as last week
Week 10 19th December Arrange flowers Framed bas relief, flowers, cutting pliars, florist tape, ikebana flower arranging spike or 15-20mm thick by 4” round iced dummy fixed to heavy base such as slate coaster or wooden block for weight.
